For as long as I can remember, I’ve told my family:

Whoever has the most fun, wins.

Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just something I said and became our family motto. My wife and kids still repeat it back to me, sometimes seriously, sometimes while gently making fun of me.

Either way, I love that it stuck.

I’m Rick Rozman. I’m 60 years old, a husband, dad, grandfather, longtime mortgage broker, former college and professional baseball player, traveler, writer, and enthusiastic collector of stories.

I’ve spent more than 30 years helping people buy homes. I’ve had personal writing published, worked on children’s books and screenplays, traveled to some unforgettable places, made plenty of questionable decisions, gotten a few things right, and collected a ridiculous number of stories along the way.

This is where I’m going to tell them.

Some will be about family.

Some will be about travel.

Some will be about homes, mortgages, and real estate.

Some will be about getting older, marriage, kids, work, creativity, loss, happiness, ambition, and those moments when life unexpectedly teaches you something.

And some may simply be stories that make me laugh.

I’m not writing this because I think I’ve figured life out.

Quite the opposite.

At 60, I’m increasingly convinced most of us are still figuring it out as we go.

But I do believe stories matter.

They remind us where we’ve been. They make us look differently at where we are. And every once in a while, somebody else’s story helps us understand our own.

So that’s what you’ll find here.

No grand philosophy.

No ten-step program.

Just stories, observations, adventures, ideas, and a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way.

And whenever possible, I’ll suggest a song to play while you’re reading.

Because everything is better with a soundtrack.
